Goji Berries
A mildly sweet ancient Tibetan berry found in the US markets as whole dried berries, powder, or in juice form. They contain 500 times more vitamin C by weight than oranges. They are the most abundant source of carotenoids on earth, with more beta-carotene than carrots. They contain 18 amino acids, and contain more iron than spinach. They also offer a variety of other vitamins, minerals, calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, and vitamins B1, B2, B6, and E. This berries antioxidant capacity is rated 18, 5000 on the ORAC scale. For comparison blueberries commonly considered high on this scale have 2, 400 ORAC units on the scale. This berry also is low on the glycemic index therefore they have little effect on blood sugar levels. They stimulate the pituitary gland to release human growth hormone, which gives you a youthful appearance, improves memory, helps reduce body fat, and improves sleep. They can increase testosterone levels in the blood thus increasing libidos in both men and women. They also heighten immune response through high levels of polysaccharides
