Wild Thyme Kitchen is passionate about creating and sharing recipes based on nutrient dense superfoods. By highlighting their unique flavor with complementing ingredients they become not only an edible health booster, but a delicacy in their own right. Wild Thyme Kitchen is also passionate about sharing simple, flavorful whole food recipes that inspire creativity, growth and vibrant health.

Moria is a Northwest native with a passion for nutrition, cooking, photography and gardening. It was a fusion of these hobbies that led to the creation of this site. Her interest in nutrition began years ago while working in a health food store and developed as she went on to become a Massage Therapist and Personal Trainer. She has traveled extensively, and her recipes are often inspired by those travels. She also enjoys developing and modifying classic recipes to incorporate superfoods, cut back on refined sugar and saturated fat, incorporate more whole grains and fresh vegetables, or create something unique. Moria is a Certified Health Counselor through the Institute for Integrated Nutrition in NYC and certified through the American Association of Drug-less Practitioners. She is the author of “Wild Thyme in the Kitchen with Fred’s Appliance” an advertising cookbook for a large local appliance company. As well as “Recipes for Radiance” the official Wild Thyme Kitchen cookbook available to the public. Wild Thyme Kitchen also makes and sells handcrafted “Superfood Bars” these bars have been carefully formulated for the ultimate balance between taste, texture and nutrition. Moria also teaches nutritional Cooking Classes at The Kitchen Engine as well as teach health related lectures in the community.

Wild Thyme Philosophy

We are the sum of what we eat, what we think about, the company we keep, and the activities we enjoy. The cumulative choices we make each day dictate our state of health and level of vibrancy. It is much like laying the foundation for a house, the more we cheat or cut corners, the weaker the foundation. A strong foundation is built with proper planning, discipline, and high quality materials. For our bodies to function optimally we need to be conscious of our food choices, the attitudes and beliefs we hold, the quality of people we surround ourselves with, and recreational choices which support our fitness goals.

Our fundamental perception of aging is slowly changing as we realize what is possible. Just stand at the finish line of a triathlon and listen to how many of these athletes are in their sixties and seventies. Or the difference in how Madonna looks at fifty; healthy, fit, and sexy, versus our perception of what that number represents. There is an inner beauty, glow, and vibrancy that can only be achieved through nutrition and exercise. Vibrant health is an investment in the future, whether it means missing less work, paying less in health care, or having the energy to get more done in a day.

Everyday presents the opportunity to invest in our health account. Maybe we make small changes at first like drinking more water or walking for twenty minutes in the morning. Maybe you already eat a balanced diet and would like ideas to incorporate nutrient dense superfoods. This site is designed to appeal to people at every stage of their health journey. Simple changes like choosing a healthier sweetener, replacing whole grain flour in place of white flour, or eating more organic whole foods can slowly change our tastes, and the types of foods our bodies crave.
